Richard Barker - BA (Hons) MRICS
Richard joined DTZ in 2001 where he qualified as a chartered surveyor in 2003 and remained until forming Barker Proudlove in February 2010. Richard worked from both the Leeds and Manchester offices during this period. Richard worked purely in retail agency where he advised landlord, developer, investor and retailer clients on all aspects of leasing, purchases and site acquisitions.
Richard advises our retailer clients on their new store acquisitions, principally throughout the North and Midlands. Richard also provides leasing and strategic asset management advise on a number of shopping centres and high street parades on behalf of regional and national UK property investment funds and property companies.
Mark Proudlove - BA (Hons) MRICS
Mark's property career started client side at Bonmarche as the Deputy Estates Manager where he qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1999. 3 years later in 2000 Mark moved into private practice when he joined Colliers CRE based in Leeds and has since spent over 10 years specialising in high street and shopping centre agency. Mark's previous post prior to the inception of Barker Proudlove was held at DTZ in Leeds.
Mark provides leasing and strategic asset management advice on high street holdings and shopping centre instructions across the North and Midlands on behalf of a variety of UK property investment funds, property companies and private investors both regional and national.
Jonathan Newns - BSc (Hons) MRICS
Jonathan started his career at DTZ where he qualified in 1999 before moving to King Sturge in 2002. As a Partner in the company Jonathan headed up the Northern In town Retail Team based out of Leeds. Here he was able to build a strong stable of both occupational, developer and landlord clients who have since followed him to Barker Proudlove when he joined in September 2011.
Jonathan provides strategic asset management and leasing advice on all types of high street and shopping centre properties throughout the North and Midlands. His client base is predominantly large institutional landlords, independent investors and developers. In addition to this work he also acts on behalf of National occupational clients undertaking acquisition and disposal advice throughout the Midlands and North.
Grant Owens - MSc MRICS
Grant joined DTZ in September 2007 within the retail asset management team based in Leeds, acting on behalf of both large institutional clients and private investors involved in shopping centre and retail parks. Grant qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2010.
GVA Grimley recruited Grant in April 2010, working within a dedicated shopping centre management team to provide strategic asset management and leasing advice on a number of shopping centre instructions throughout the North West on behalf of major lending organisations.
Grant's primary focus to date has been on building long-term and sustainable value for underperforming, declining or threatened shopping centre's. This has been achieved through active asset management and successfully sourcing viable development opportunities. In appropriate circumstances assets have been readied 'fit-for-sale'.
Grant joined Barker Proudlove in September 2011.
